Best Ever GCSE Results

The Sutton Academy is celebrating record results - the best ever in the school’s history.

69% of students achieved 9-4 grades in mathematics and 69% in English.

There were exceptional results in many individual departments.

Biology 100% A*-C, Catering 82% A*-C, Chemistry 100% A*/A, Dance 75% A*-C, French 71% A*-C, ICT 88% A*-C with 29% A*/A, Music 43% A*/A, Physics 100% A*-C, Psychology 93% A*-C, Spanish 73% A*-C with 31% A*/A.

Notable individual performances with 10 A*/A or equivalent qualifications were
Leonie Hanlon
Sophie Harmon who also gained 2 grade 9s
Joshua Mather who also gained 1 grade 9 and 2 grade 8s.

Alison Sherman, the Principal of The Sutton Academy said “We are absolutely delighted with these results.  Over the last three years there have been significant changes and improvements here at the academy, this has led to this excellent set of GCSE results.

However such results are only achieved when staff and students work together with determination and commitment.
