White Water Writers come to Sutton!
We are very lucky to welcome White Water Writers to our Academy to work with several students in Years 7 and 8 in order to write two novels!
The students have been working in small teams - led by specialist writers developing a variety of new skills in order to create texts which will be published on Amazon.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for our students to immerse themselves in creative writing - and subsequently encourage their independence as the writers of the future. They have been introduced to a variety of new skills including:
- Creating believable characters
- Designing an engaging plot
- Describing settings using varied vocabulary
- Using a range of punctuation for effect
- Drafting, proof reading and editing
- The business of writing a novel
