Cheerleading Success

On Sunday 24th June, 34 students from The Sutton Academy attended The National Schools' Cheerleading Championships, held at The Manchester Velodrome.

The students did exceptionally well, placing first place in both cheerleading categories which were KS3 level 1 and KS4 level 2. Year 8's Urban Cheer also placed 1st.

KS4 level 2 Urban Cheer and KS3 Level 1 Urban Cheer placed 4th and 7th place, despite not placing top 3, they did incredibly well and their routines looked amazing.

Amongst these awards Morgan Davies also won The Sutton Academy Spirit Award, which is a trophy awarded to a student from each competing school for their hard work, determination, dedication and overall attitude towards cheer in their school. We felt Morgan deserved this award as she fulfilled everything that this award was about.

Well done to all the girls involved! You have done yourselves, academy and teachers proud!
