Trip of a Lifetime to New York

Year 13 students embarked on a trip to New York Rewards Trip from 15-19 March.

The trip saw the group embark on what was a very busy tour of the city and sites, including the Liberty Ferry to Liberty Island to see The Statue of Liberty and Staten Island.

During their trip they did a walking tour to see the Ghost Busters Fire Station, which had a family event, to promote the new film. They were able to go inside and meet staff who work at the Fire Station.

They also visited a number of shops and malls that students had requested including Macy’s, Sephora and The M and M shop. We also visited The Rockefeller Centre, The Empire State Building, Chelsea Market, Vessel, Hudson Yards and walked along The High Line. A walk around Little Island gave students a great view of The Water’s Soul sculpture, by Jaume Plensa, the artist who also made The Dream Sculpture at Sutton Manor.

In the evenings, they spent their time in Times Square and had a meal at Ellen’s Stardust Diner, where students experienced a typical diner and karaoke by local Broadway students.
