Connecting Classrooms
12.05.2011On Wednesday 4 May and Thursday 5 May, we had visitors from Thailand and Korea as part of the Connecting Classrooms Programme.
We were very excited to welcome our partner school from Korea and Thailand. They arrived to a chorus of primary school pupils from Eaves and Robins Lane singing ‘I can see clearly now the rain has gone’ led by our very own Jack Bennett of Year 10. Everyone did really well and gave them a good British welcome.
This was followed by some of our year 10 students giving an introduction to The Sutton Academy and all the great things we have been doing this year. Well done to everyone involved.
We then visited Robins Lane primary, Thatto Heath and Eaves within the two days. All the pupils involved gave our visitors a great reception. We spent lots of time planning exciting ideas of how to link our classes across the globe. Keep an eye out of how to get involved in lessons.
We hope to Skype and video conference to our partner schools and learn more about our partners in Korea and Thailand. This is a great opportunity for our school and for us all, pupils and staff and parents to become more of a global citizen and broaden our horizons. Watch this
space...
