Oh What a Night!
19.07.2011The Year 11 Prom was held on Thursday 30th June at Holland Hall, Up Holland.
At 5.45pm over 140 students in their posh frocks and suits graciously blessed TSA car park with their presence. What a positively delightful sight they were. Every colour of the rainbow was present and every style of suit and dress.
After a bumpy ride to Holland Hall the students had their photos taken by a photographer and were greeted by applauding staff and a glass of orange punch. Miss Dykes had done the students proud and the room was decorated like a wedding. It was amazing. Even down to the 200 'favours' Miss Dykes had lovingly prepared; which adorned the tables amongst the candles and feathers. Once the food was served, devoured and after a very quick but heartfelt thank you was said by Miss Dykes and Mrs K, the dancing began and boy did it begin!
Throughout the evening the students behaved impeccably and their families would have been proud. Mrs K only cried once - but no-one saw it, thankfully. Most of the girl's shoes were off by the end of the night, probably a good thing as the dancing never stopped!
I don’t think I've ever seen so many people dancing about in my life - and it didn’t stop until the very last song. Thank you all for making it the best prom I've ever been to.
I'll miss you all - Mrs K
