Students visit Wish FM
21.07.2011On the Wednesday 13th July, 10 Year 9 students and selected A Level performing arts students went to Wish FM radio station, to record their own radio show and adverts. In the first workshop the students were shown the basics of how a radio show broadcasts and then they were set the task of recording there own radio. They got to grips with the radio equipment easily and with help from the Wish FM presenters they started to record their shows. Each show had all the features of a real radio show including Wish FM jingles.
In the afternoon they started to create their rival open evening adverts, with Mr Terry picking the best one to appear on Wish FM all week leading up to the Open Evening in the autumn.
The day was a great success with all the students enjoying being on the radio especially singing along with the jingles!
Adam Reed (9MDE) ‘I thought the radio was just people sat around talking but its actually hard work and takes a lot time’
Kyle Grounds (9EBP) ‘It wasn’t what I expected, it was a lot of fun learning how to use the equipment’
