Year 8 work with TaMHS

11.02.2011

On Wednesday 9 February, a group of Year 8 students had the opportunity to present their ideas and work which they have developed with the TaMHS over the past term, to the Steering Group from Barnardo’s.

The students have been developing skills and knowledge to address key issues relating to anxiety, anger and other emotions. They explored how to express and manage their feelings. The aim of the group was to consult with young people on their views and opinions on wellbeing and therapeutic spaces in their school.

“Our group have worked very hard over 8 weeks to learn about anger, stress, worries and what we can do to manage these emotions. We have all been creative, we’ve learnt how to relax and we’ve designed rooms for the school to help students relax when they feel angry or stressed. We also showed what we had learnt to other adults and showed them how they can relax too – Barnardo’s Group by Leanne, Liam, Jenna, Jordan, Esther and Lindsay.
