Nurture Base
Perhaps the biggest change from Primary School is the way in which the day is organised. Each day is divided into four lessons and Year 7 students will have a base where they will be taught for Live2Learn lessons. This will provide a nurturing, secure environment as they adapt to their new school. Read more...
Live2Learn lessons will aim to create a relevant and inclusive 21st century curriculum and environment for ALL learners and a place where students love to learn and are allowed and encouraged to develop sustainable skills for life. A curriculum which aims to deliver the personal, learning and thinking skills and assess their progress as a primary focus. These include being a Team Worker and Effective Participator, being a Self-Manager and Reflective Learner and being an Independent Enquirer and Creative Thinker.
Live2Learn will ensure that the learning environment fits in the students' needs and promotes their learning by being:
welcoming and caring; challenging and stimulating; comfortable; organised and well-resourced; flexible to adapt to student and curriculum needs; a place of reward and celebration of success (Parent Showcases and Student of the Week) and displays for learning.
