World Book Day Plans

Our plans to celebrate World Book Day on Thursday 1 March.

Reading is an essential, valuable and lifelong skill which we feel very passionately about as an Academy. Next week we are offering students in Years 7 and 8 the opportunity to become their favourite fictional characters for one day only! This was a great success last year, and we want every student in Key Stage 3 to get the most out of it.

Lessons that day will have an adventure theme, and the Academy staff will also be taking part by getting dressed up! Students will be given a competition card to collect as many signatures as possible from costumed staff. The most imaginatively dressed student and member of staff will also receive a fantastic prize.

We would be very grateful if you could support your child on World Book Day and encourage them to take as full a role as possible. If you are able, we would welcome a £1 donation to our Academy charity which students can hand in on the day.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email: mark.lovelady@thesuttonacademy.org.uk.

Once again, many thanks for your support and we look forward to a great day next Thursday.
