Shout out to our incredible #Year11 students! Today, we celebrated their outstanding attendance at Easter #revision sessions with a well-deserved treat in The Plaza during lunchtime. Their dedication doesn't go unnoticed, and we're incredibly proud of each and every one of them! https://t.co/F3XWvRd0MV

Parking at the academy/leisure centre, when attending is expected to be very busy from 4.30pm today. If parents/carers are able to find alternative means to travel, possibly car share, or be dropped-off/collected, this would help to ease any congestion. All support appreciated. https://t.co/RM4QcKeqKq

Yesterday was an enriching day for our Year 10 Triple Science students as they explored Mere Sands Wood Nature Reserve in Ormskirk. From using quadrats and transects to survey tree and ground flora, to utilising technology to identify wetland and woodland birds, they delved deep into ecological studies. These experiences directly tie into their upcoming GCSE Biology required practicals next year, giving them a head start on their academic journey. A huge thank you to Lancashire Wildlife Trust trust for their invaluable session delivery!

This week we had the privilege during our Year 10 Assembly to welcome two former students to discuss their education here at the academy and beyond. Lauren Aspinall - School Teacher at a local Primary School Ryan Murphy - Lieutenant in the Royal Navy They both spoke about their experiences of revising for GCSEs and the importance of always striving to achieve the best you can. They discussed how school has impacted on their further education and professional careers. It was clear to see the love they have for their jobs and the importance of education was a clear inspiration to our students who were heard afterwards saying "We should have that every week" & "I now want to be a Primary School Teacher". We were extremely proud to see these former students again and to hear how successful they have been. It was clear to see the appreciation the role the academy had on their lives. #inspiration
