The Sutton Academy has an intake number of 270 students for Year 7 in September 2023

Please note - the academy has been over-subscribed for Year 7 places for four successive years, including September 2022.

We appreciate that choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will ever have to make, and we hope this section will give you all the necessary information on how to apply to The Sutton Academy.

Applying for secondary school for September 2023

If your child turns 11 between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023, he or she will transfer to secondary school in September 2023.

The online application form is available from Monday 5 September 2022 until 31 October 2022.  Please apply by clicking the Apply Here button below for a Year 7 secondary school place for September 2023. The closing date for applications is 31 October 2022.

Before you apply:

• Read the secondary education booklet, which contains useful information about the application process, including: how places will be allocated, definition of home address and how late applications will be dealt with.
• Visit your preferred schools' Open Evenings.
• Consider how your child will get to school and the potential transport costs.
• Clarify any issues you are not sure about with staff in the School Admissions Team on 01744 671030 or email schooladmissions@sthelens.gov.uk.
