Year 8 Rugby Team Impresses at Regional Festival

On Thursday 9 October, our Year 8 rugby team showcased outstanding skill, teamwork, and resilience at the regional Rugby Festival, competing in five high-energy fixtures against local schools.

The team started strong with a 2-0 win over Rainhill High A, demonstrating solid defence and excellent ball movement. This was followed by a closely contested match against Cowley, which ended in a narrow 1-0 victory.

Despite a 0-5 loss to reigning English champions Rainford High, the team showed great determination and attacking promise throughout the game. They bounced back with a commanding 3-0 win over Rainhill High B, scoring spectacular tries from across the pitch.

The final match saw the team take on a strong De La Salle side. With confidence high, they delivered a disciplined and strategic performance, securing a convincing 4-0 win.

With a record of 4 wins from 5 matches, the team’s performance was a testament to their hard work, sportsmanship, and commitment to excellence.

Well done to all involved! We look forward to seeing the team compete in the Town Cup after half term.
