Year 12 Student Honoured for Heroic Act of Bravery

.

We are immensely proud to share that Year 12 student Cameron McDonough, has been awarded the Chief Fire Officer's Certificate of Meritorious Action by Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service.

On 8 April 2025, Cameron demonstrated exceptional bravery and compassion when he encountered a man in crisis near St Helens Fire Station. Without hesitation, Cameron approached the individual, calmly engaged him in conversation, and successfully talked him down from a dangerous situation on a bridge. He then guided the man to the safety of the fire station, ensuring he received the urgent support he needed.

Cameron’s quick thinking, empathy, and maturity in such a serious situation are nothing short of remarkable. His actions not only made a life-changing difference that day but also serve as a powerful example of courage and kindness in our community.

We are incredibly honoured to have Cameron as part of our Academy. His bravery reflects the very best of our values, and we know he will continue to inspire others with his strength of character.
