Year 10 Students Take on the Velodrome!

Students experience the thrill of indoor track cycling!
Recently, our Year 10 GCSE PE and BTEC Sport students had the incredible opportunity to visit the National Cycling Centre in Manchester, home to the world-famous Velodrome. The day was packed with excitement as students took part in two fantastic sessions led by British Cycling coaches — trying their hand at BMX biking and experiencing the thrill of indoor track cycling.
Alongside these adrenaline-filled activities, students learned essential cycling techniques and training methods, gaining insight into what it takes to compete at the highest level. The experience was made even more special by the chance to train alongside Team GB athletes, with Olympic gold medal winners practicing on the very same track! Watching them in action was truly inspiring and gave our students a glimpse into the dedication and skill required to reach the top.
This unforgettable day not only developed new sporting skills but also motivated our students to aim high and embrace every opportunity.
A huge thank you to the coaches and staff who made this experience possible — and well done to all our students for giving it their all!
