Year 8 Rowing Team Celebrate

Outstanding Success at Indoor Competition!

The Sutton Academy is celebrating the outstanding achievements of its Year 8 Rowing Team, who delivered exceptional performances at a recent indoor rowing competition. Competing against 160 boys and 154 girls from schools across the region, every member of the team achieved a personal best, showcasing their determination, resilience and commitment.

The event highlighted not only individual talent but also the team’s impressive collective effort, earning well‑deserved recognition for their hard work.

National Qualification for Reuben Ward‑Jones

A special congratulations goes to Reuben WJ, who placed 10th overall in the boys’ competition with a distance of 763 metres. This outstanding achievement has secured him a place in the national finals in London, where he will represent the academy on a prestigious stage.

In the highly competitive team relay event, The Sutton Academy secured an impressive 14th place out of 38 schools, finishing with a combined distance of 1881 metres.
