Mingalaba Event

Today, a group of students from across Y8 and Y9 took part in an inspiring Languages event led by Mingalaba, which explored the exciting and unexpected places that languages can take you.

The session highlighted how language learning opens doors to a wide range of careers, from fashion design and international business to football agents and global media.

Through engaging examples and real-world stories, students discovered that languages are far more than just a subject in the classroom – they are a skill for life. Learning a language builds confidence, communication skills, cultural understanding, and adaptability, all of which are highly valued by universities and employers alike.

The event encouraged students to see languages as a pathway to new opportunities, travel, and connections across the world, leaving them motivated to continue developing their language skills and to think big about their future possibilities.
