Wearing Red for the Lunar New Year
Students and staff wear a red item to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
To conclude our Lunar New Year celebrations, students and staff across the academy came together on Friday 13 February by wearing red, a colour traditionally symbolising good luck, happiness and prosperity.
The academy was filled with vibrant red accessories, from ties and hair ribbons to scarves and socks, creating a warm and festive atmosphere throughout the day. This simple but meaningful gesture allowed our academy community to recognise and celebrate the cultural significance of Lunar New Year and the traditions associated with it.
Throughout the week, students engaged in a range of activities exploring different customs and learning about the importance of the festival to communities around the world. Friday’s event provided a fitting end to these celebrations, reinforcing our commitment to inclusivity, cultural awareness and shared experiences.
We would like to thank all students and staff who took part for helping to create such a positive and uplifting end to our Lunar New Year events.
