Year 8 Student Celebrates National Writing Success

A talented Year 8 student is celebrating after being named a winner in the prestigious Young Writers Stranger Sagas Competition.
Alicja B impressed judges with her imaginative and gripping story, which was selected from more than 27,000 entries submitted by young writers from across the country. Her success is a remarkable achievement and highlights her outstanding creativity and storytelling ability.
As one of the competition winners, Alicja was awarded a trophy and a £100 Amazon voucher in recognition of her accomplishment.
Acclaimed poet, author and competition judge Mark Grist praised Alicja's work, commenting:
"Alicja, I loved your concept of waking up in different bodies, the narrator having to immediately adapt to their new surroundings. The slow creep of the host's emotions is effective and creepy, but then the ending takes the horror up even further, leaving so many questions. I want to read more!"
The judge's feedback recognised not only the originality of Alicja's idea but also her ability to build suspense and engage readers through powerful storytelling.
Everyone at the academy is incredibly proud of Alicja's achievement. To have her work selected from such a large number of entries is testament to her talent, dedication and passion for creative writing.
Congratulations, Alicja, on this fantastic success. We look forward to seeing what you write next.
