Healthy Eating Week

The Sutton Academy has been participating in BNF’s Healthy Eating Week 2018.

The Food Department appointed 30 Year 7 students to become Healthy Eating Ambassadors. They have given up their time to encourage fellow students to make healthier choices at break time along with aiding the distribution of fruit to 100 people each day.  This annual weekly event is to raise awareness of healthy eating and drinking and being active, to promote key health messages and habits to young people.

In lessons and assemblies we have been discussing and encouraging children to try some of the BNF Healthy Eating Week challenges, which are to:

  • Have breakfast;
  • Have 5 A DAY;
  • Drink plenty;
  • Get active;
  • Make a change.

The Sutton Academy Healthy Eating Challenge

We challenged our students to step outside their comfort zone, try something new this week and learn more about the importance of healthy eating.

By the end of the week, all students will be able to accurately and confidently explain how to keep themselves healthy and be able to make informed choices about healthy eating, fitness and their emotional and mental well-being.

This week has been a roaring success. Many thanks to all students and staff involved as without them, the week would not have been made possible.
