Over the last eight weeks, students have taken up the 20 minute reading challenge which required them to read for at least 20 minutes a day - and then have a special bookmark signed.  Lots of students took part and today we awarded a certificate and prize of £20 to Jack Molyneux in Year 10.  It's a fantastic achievement and very well deserved.  The perfect prize for Christmas!

Reader of the Term

Every week staff nominate students for the award of Reader of the Week.  Students receive a certificate signed by Mrs Sherman and myself, and are automatically entered into a prize draw for the end of term.  This term's lucky winner is Robert-John Martindale in Year 8!  He has been spotted on numerous occasions walking around the Academy reading books.  He is also a regular visitor to the library.  We awarded a certificate and prize of £10 to Robert.  Very well done, Robert!
