On Thursday 22nd May, students and staff gathered at Totally Wicked Stadium to celebrate sporting success at the academy.

The evening started with a photo opportunity on the red carpet, then an introduction to the evening from Mr Hodgson, who talked about the importance of working hard to achieve your goals.

Then it was time to introduce Saints players Kyle Amor and Aaron Smith, who both took part in a Question and Answer session hosted by Mr Cawley.   There were a few laughs when Kyle admitted that he didn't choose PE for GCSE, instead he opted for Food Tech!

The excitement was building up for the awards that were given to individual sporting heroes for the 2018/19 Academic Year, such as Players' Player, Teachers Award and Sports Personality of the Year.  

Food was then served to the hungry crowd, giving them energy for the night ahead! 

Everyone had an amazing night with a fun packed evening full of games, raffles and a disco to end the evening.  

A massive thank you to The Sutton Academy PE Department, particularly Mrs Egerton for putting on such an amazing first Sports Personality Awards Night.
