On Monday 4 July, we held our very first Primary Pride of Sutton Awards Ceremony.

The event was an opportunity for us to celebrate all the amazing young people in our Partner Primary Schools, and their fantastic achievements.

With categories such as Child of Courage, Sports Person of the Year, Young Community Star, Young Leader, Performing Arts Star of the Year, School Values and The Sutton Academy Overall Champion.

Students were nominated by their primary schools for the above categories along with a reason for the nomination.  Our Academy Leadership Team then had the difficult task of choosing a winner from each category.  All students received a golden envelope inviting them and their families along to the event.

The Arts Theatre was transformed to welcome all our guests with drinks on arrival served by Year 12 Catering students, and a buffet style meal was also provided.  Our Year 12 students and Food staff worked tirelessly all day to cater for the event.  Entertainment on arrival was performed by two of our amazing Year 11 soloists, Summer Owens and Summer Whyment.

Mr Willerton introduced the evening with Vice Principal Mrs Grace announcing the nominees and winners.  All students received a medal and certificate with the winners also winning a trophy.

We hope that all involved enjoyed the first ever Primary Pride of Sutton Awards Ceremony and we look forward to doing it again next year.
