Parking Information

Parking at the academy for parents and carers.
Dear Parents/Carers
Due to the academy being oversubscribed in each year group, we are aware of the challenges when dropping students off in a morning and picking them up at the end of the academy day. The capacity of the car park does not support the increase in student numbers, leading to a number of parents/carers parking elsewhere to drop students off or pick them up.
Over recent weeks we have received a number of complaints about parking, these include:
- Parking on the new cycle lanes and pathways on Elton Head Road, blocking cyclists, pedestrians and students’ safe commute
- Parking on the Housing Estate directly opposite the academy
- When parking on the Housing Estate, blocking driveways and on occasions verbal abuse directed towards residents when challenged
To reduce some of these issues, can I please ask that parents/carers:
- Where possible, encourage your child to walk or cycle to the academy, or to catch public transport. I appreciate that this is not always possible or appropriate
- Avoid parking on the Housing Estate directly opposite the academy
- Moving forward, consider using the car park at Sherdley Park as a pick up and/or drop off point
As always, your support in resolving any of the issues I have highlighted above is very much appreciated.
