Most Able
At The Sutton Academy we believe that all of our students are entitled to an education that will enable them to develop their full potential.
We recognise the part that must be played by the whole academy to create opportunities that will inspire our Most Able students to achieve or even exceed their academic potential, this includes students with special educational needs and students who are in receipt of pupil premium funding.
It is also recognised that all children have different needs within lessons which makes differentiation a vital tool that should be used in the planning and execution of all lessons to ensure our Most Able learners are catered for.
The Sutton Academy is committed to providing a sufficiently challenging curriculum for all of its students. In addition, we will provide opportunities to identify and encourage those who are considered Most Able and to seek to identify Most Able students who are currently underachieving and provide support for those students who need it.
The High Attainers Programme
The High Attainers Programme is a specially developed programme designed to offer opportunities for our high achieving students to continue to develop academically outside of the classroom by allowing them to take part in high end activities.
The programme has been designed with the intentions of developing the aspirations of our students to make them aware of the opportunities available to them once they have left school, informing them of post 16 opportunities in terms of Russell Group and Oxbridge Universities, Sixth Form opportunities and careers information from the professionals who will visit the academy as guest speakers.
As well as this the programme offers students the opportunities to further develop academically with a range of outstanding activities on offer for students to participate in. These include high end Mathematics challenges, creative writing challenges facilitated by our English department and Computing projects designed to challenge and inspire our students so they can exceed their potential and be the very best they can be.
